Prestwich is mostly red-brick Victorian and Edwardian housing — terraces, bay-fronted semis and a lot of rear alleys and shared entries. The brick here is generally hard-fired and robust, but it has had a century of soot and city grime on it, and the north-facing gables that back onto Heaton Park and the clough get green quickly. Flagged rear yards and alley access are the other Prestwich constant, and they are almost always the jobs people put off longest.
We work across Prestwich, Sedgley Park, Simister and the roads either side of Bury New Road. Typical jobs here are frontage brick cleaning that genuinely changes how a house looks, gutter and fascia cleaning on high two-and-three-storey terraces, and steam cleaning tired stone flags and yards. Because parking is tight on a lot of Prestwich streets, we plan access before the day rather than turning up and hoping.
