Prestbury is one of the more delicate places we work. The village core has timber-framed and listed buildings, painted lime render, sandstone detail and cobbled thresholds, and out along Macclesfield Road and Withinlee Road there are large properties set in mature grounds. Between the trees, the river and the age of the buildings, almost nothing here should ever see a pressure washer.
We work almost exclusively with steam and softwashing in Prestbury: taking algae off painted render without touching the paint, cleaning sandstone and cobbles gently, and treating heavily shaded roofs and gutters on the larger houses. On older property we survey first, agree exactly what will and will not be cleaned, and keep everything at low pressure so historic fabric is not put at risk.
