A clean driveway is the first thing visitors and buyers notice — and the fastest, cheapest upgrade you can make to the kerb appeal of your home. We steam-clean block paving, tarmac, imprinted concrete and natural stone driveways, then re-sand and (if you want) seal them so the finish lasts as long as possible.
What's actually involved
A proper driveway clean is a three-step job: hot-steam treatment to kill moss, algae and lichen at the root, an even steam pass across the whole surface for a uniform finish, and re-sanding the joints with kiln-dried sand to lock the blocks together and slow future moss growth. Optional sealing on top of that gives you a wet-look finish and a driveway that shrugs off oil and tyre marks for years.
The right method for your driveway
Block paving needs care around the joints — high pressure blows the sand out and loosens the blocks, which is why we don't pressure-wash. We use hot steam instead: even coverage across the drive, careful attention around the edges, and fresh kiln-dried sand brushed into every joint once we're done. Imprinted (pattern-stamped) concrete is steam-cleaned to protect the surface seal and re-sealed at the end. Tarmac is steam-treated too — pressure lifts the aggregate.
What to expect on the day
You'll need to move vehicles off the drive first thing — we'll usually ask you to park on the road or in a neighbour's space. A standard two-car drive is a single day: steam clean in the morning, re-sand and tidy in the afternoon. Larger drives, or drives with paths and side access, run to a day and a half. We take away all the debris and leave the drive looking sharp before we leave.
Aftercare and how long the results last
Cleaned and re-sanded block paving stays sharp for 2–3 years unsealed and 5+ years sealed. Please don't take a domestic pressure washer to it between visits — it strips the joint sand and starts the moss cycle again. A light annual maintenance visit keeps the drive looking fresh between full cleans.
